EDUCATION

Any country that will embrace development either socially, economically or politically must take education as a priority. Education is not only free; it is compulsory up to the age of 16 in every province in Canada. Yes that right. It is COMPULSORY. That shows the value that is placed on education in Canada. Even if schooling isn't legally compulsory, we've grown to think of it as the only legitimate path to adulthood. Imagine a man that has never passed through the four walls of school until age 18; all you need to do is to allow him to speak for just a minute and it will be evident that a major part of his life is defective.

There is no doubt that one of the major reasons why we are still listed to be among the developing nations of the world is because of our literacy level. ACADEC is set to take a bold step to contibute her quota to educational development in Africa. We have been able to partner with various organizations in the developed world that have shared our vision of educating Africa. Some of our strategies towards achieveing this are:

1.) Establishment of libraries and resource centres in strategic cities in Africa.

2.) Organizing of training, workshops and seminars in collaboration with major universities in Africa for educational sensitization programs.

3.) Setting-up of "Maple Incubation Centres" in major cities in Africa

4.) Creation of scholarship programs for exceptional students to study abroad.

5.) Working towards making education free at least at elementary level in Africa.
